The Project

Maria provided pro bono representation to Unaccompanied Children in one of the toughest immigration courts.Children who face the perils of journeying by themselves to the U.S. are not provided public defenders when they are facing deportation back to the dangerous countries that they fled. The Justice AmeriCorps Program helps step in and provide more of those children counsel in order to better their chances of staying.
