The Project

Provide no-cost legal services, training, and education to build capacity and empowerment among Lodi area farmworkers, especially women who are more vulnerable to sexual abuse while in the fields.

The Inspiration

Need Addressed By Project:
Farmworker women work in a male-dominated industry and many of them are undocumented, making them especially vulnerable to sexual abuse. These incidents of abuse go largely unreported due to fear of being fired or deported and inaccessibility of legal assistance. This fear, along with the need to provide for their families, keeps women working despite sexual abuse.
